Jose Francisco Vallejo is Senior Director Global Head of Environment at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. He has global responsibility for developing and implementing the environmental strategy and programs and leading sustainability efforts for the company. The focus areas are climate change, water and waste stewardship, environmental compliance and risk management, remediation, pharmaceutical in the environment and due diligence.

He has 19 years of experience (13 years of these working in Saint Gobain), in different operational and global roles. He has been working in different areas such as R&D, Energy, EHS, Industrial Risk Prevention, Operational Excellence and Sustainability but also in different sectors such as biopharma, chemical manufacturing, mineral wool manufacturing, and mining.

He is an active culture and mindset change agent leader passionate with people development, leading challenging programs and striving to achieve excellent team performance results.

He is a chemical engineer and holds an Executive MBA with official certifications in Environment Health and Safety.

 

He was born in Madrid and had been living and working in Paris for 6 years before moving to Zurich, where he lives now with his family since he joined Takeda 2 years ago.
